Artist Statement:
Unfortunately, I do not have all 6 photos of each transformation, but from these 4 there is definitely a sense of evolution. I have never quite done anything like this before. This is a good exercise for gaining a better perspective and really responding to the marks you're making. My piece went from sad and angsty to possessing this crazy energy that one could even argue exudes a sadistic feel.
I had fun making the marks and experimenting with different techniques and materials. This really pushed me to keep changing and adding onto the piece instead of leaving it at the one dimensional character it was before.
