Artist Statement:
Unfortunately, I do not have photos of my finish "Multiple Panel Drawing". However, my piece covered an entire door in the art building, each page covered in text from conversations I had with the people that I interviewed. I would ask people questions about themselves and their lives past and present. I had them tell stories, and I did my best to fill every white space of the paper with the words that they spoke, even if they were just speaking to people in the room. The door is significant because it gives the text that context of identity, since doors are a big part of who we are. Doors work in so many ways. They keep things in and keep things out, and they, like the houses they are attached to act as windows into the lives of those who live in those houses. This a piece about identity and the displaying of that identity.
