Soap Carvings

These deformed sisters are a result of my first time carving soap, or carving anything 3D for that matter. I used a small, plastic chicken for reference and slowly carved away the soap, resulting in piles upon piles of soap shavings that I molded to make the beaks in the end. This was a challenging project that left me frustrated but left my art bag smelling like a Bath & Body Works. I did, however, learn about the interesting world of soap carving, and I am interested in trying it again, but maybe with an easier reference object.
